Yulong Hu is a Ph.D. candidate in the Art History and Criticism program at Stony Brook University. Her research interests include contemporary Chinese art, media art, experimental film, transnational popular culture, and art pedagogy. Primarily, she studies Chinese media art in the global context while exploring emergent forms of artistic production and their impact on the ever-changing audiovisual landscape. Yulong received an MA in Film and Media Studies from Columbia University and a BA (summa cum laude) at Stony Brook University in Art History & Criticism. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a gallery assistant at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery and co-curated the “Artists as Innovators” exhibition in 2019.
