Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine

Required Qualifications

MD or equivalent; board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Preventative Medicine or Occupational Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with occupational and environmental diseases highly desirable.

Responsibilities & Requirements

This position requires clinical participation at the World Trade Center Health Program's clinical sites in Commack and Mineola.  Approximately 60% of the work effort will be devoted to patient care and administrative duties.  40% will be devoted to clinically related research and education.  Administrative duties include general oversight of various aspects of the World Trade Center Health Program.  Clinical and research activities currently emphasize aero-digestive diseases and psychological and social problems that occurred as a result of exposure to asbestos and silica exposure related diseases are also of concern.  Participation in clinical programs involving both the identification and treatment of WTC responder related problems is necessary.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.  Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
