Required Qualifications
MD or equivalent. Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board Certified in Medical
Oncology. Patient care experience and interest in leading the development of a clinical
and translational research program in early phase clinical trials. Experience in
the conduct of clinical trials, including the initiation of investigator initiated
trials.
Preferred Qualifications
For Associate Director of Clinical Research Position, candidate must have demonstrated
ability to provide leadership within a complex organization and experience with IND
submissions, pharmaceutic collaborations and supervision of clinical trials operations
is expected.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine and the Stony Brook Univeristy
Cancer Center, Stony Brook, NY are seeking an experienced physician scientist to participate
in a clinical faculty practice and lead the development of a robust clinical and translational
research program in therapeutic clinical trials. There will be an option for advanced
candidates to serve as Associate Director of Clinical Research in the Center Center.
The candidate should have extensive experience in the conduct of clinical trials,
including the initiation of investigator initiated trials. Experience with IND submissions,
pharmaceutic collaborations and supervision of clinical rial operations is expected.
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent leadership
and organizational abilities. Participation in the mission of the Stony Brook Cancer
Center, including the expansion of its clinical trials portfolio, investigator initiated
trials and collaboration with the existing strong programs in cancer biology, metabolomics,
lipidomics, cancer imaging, bioinformatics, qualitative biology, and an Institute
of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery is anticipated. Contributions to the teaching
and educational mission of the Division of Hematology/Oncology is expected. Resources
for building ans successfully operating clinical trial programs will be provided,
including resources for recruitment of additional Jr. faculty.
Special Notes
Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions
of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Eligibility for
tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience. To qualify for
tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established
by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure). Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
