Nurse Practitioner - Clinical Instructor

Required Qualifications

NYS license and certification as Nurse Practitioner. Master's degree in Nursing or completion of a course for Nurse Practitioner. Current registration to practice as a Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications

At least one year clinical experience working as a Nurse Practitioner. Experience working in the following clinical areas: otolaryngology; head and neck surgery; surgical oncology. Experience working in an ambulatory outpatient setting.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsible for patient care, as well as teaching medical students, residents, fellows, as well as students from other healthcare professions. This position serves as a health care professional who, under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, provides health care to patients.

Duties include, perform clinical evaluations of patients, which may involve histories, physical examinations and laboratory testing; perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; counsel and advise patients and families; responsible for education of patients and their families, as well as the general public.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: 4/1/2018.
