Nurse Practitioner - Clinical Instructor

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing or completion of a course for Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current license and registration to practice as a NYS licensed Nurse Practitioner (or license eligible).
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records application.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology experience.
  • Experience working in women's health.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Two years post-licensure experience as a Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities & Requirements

 The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner who will work with physicians, residents, physician assistants and nurses to provide medical care in accordance with accepted practice standards and protocols in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stony Brook Medicine.  The NP will deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice, education of patients, patient's families, practice staff and others.  The NP will provide care for Gynecologic Oncology patients and post-operative patients who have undergone treatment and/or surgical procedures at Stony Brook University Cancer Center at Stony Brook University Hospital.  The NP will also provide care at follow-up visits at the patient office, and will be very involved in chemotherapy education and survivorship.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.  Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
