WINTER SESSION 2026 (January 2026)

• STEPS TO ENROLL

  NOTE:  Students who wish to take General Chemistry I (CHE 131)  in Spring 2025 must complete the Online Chemistry Placement and Preparation (OCPP) process, a requirement for the course. Please see the website  for further details and instructions concerning the OCPP process.OCPP

  1.    Make your course selection and credits. See course detail below.
  
  2.    Complete our Summer and Winter Session Application.
  
  3.    Allow (3-5) business days for processing. You will be sent a Stony Brook ID Number and registration instructions.

   NOTE: Once you have your SBUID and before you can enroll,  students must obtain special permission from the department.       Please email  ug_chemistry_advisors@stonybrook.edu with your name, SBUID  and write in the subject line:  "CHE 131 - need permission to enroll".

  4.    Once you have permission, please visit SOLAR for course registration :   Solar Link

Waitlist (WL) Options: Please add yourself to the WL (if one is available).  If you encounter an error message about not meeting a reserve capacity, we recommend adding yourself to the WL.  A position on the WL does NOT guarentee an enrolled seat, however it is the best possible option to getting in if a seat becomes available.
