The State University of New York at Stony Brook (SUNY Stony Brook), commonly known as Stony Brook University, is a public  research university in Stony Brook, New York.  We are located east of New York City on Long Island. The University is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, the largest university system in the US, which is comprised of 64 campuses.
