| Apply for an HISB Undergrduate Internship

The HISB undergraduate internship offers students an opportunity to earn 3 credits of EGL 488.1 and gain valuable work experience while honing their skills in writing (for diverse media), interviewing, researching, and marketing.
Interns work closely with faculty and staff of the Humanities Institute at Stony Brook to advance the mission of HISB—“supporting and showcasing the work of those who explore the nature of human experience”—while actively engaging students and community members in this work. Intern projects include: conducting interviews with visiting scholars, artists & activists; creating content for various social media platforms; developing new marketing & outreach initiatives; writing feature articles for The Statesman and the HISB newsletter; designing and managing one student-focused event each semester.
Duties (may vary according to assignment):
- Conduct interviews with visiting scholars, artists & activists;
- Create content for various social media platforms;
- Edit videos for Instagram and YouTube;
- Conduct marketing & outreach;
- Organize and carry out your own "HISB Undergraduate Takeover" event
Requirements:
Strong communication skills Some knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.) Creativity Teamwork Video editing skills a plus
