Donna Buehler Donna Buehler joined Stony Brook University in 1998. Prior to coming to the Ombuds Office, Donna served as the Director of the Stony Brook University Employee Assistance Program where she established the Hardship Fund and opened a satellite office at the hospital. She chaired the University President’s Campus Safety Advisory Committee from 2008 through 2012. Later she became the Director of Organizational Wellness & Healthier U Initiatives and received the 2013 Long Island Business News Health Care Heroes Award. Her expertise is in behavioral health, wellness and workplace issues. Donna received her BA from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University with a minor in business administration from the Columbia Graduate School of Business. She serves on the World of Work Advisory Board at Columbia University School of Social Work and is Past President of the Alumni Association. Donna is a member of The International Ombuds Association and the International Association of Employee Assistance Professionals in Education (IAEAPE) where she was a board member and recipient of the 2012 IAEAPE Service Award. In 2016 she was awarded a certificate in mediation from the Quinnipiac University School of Law Center on Dispute Resolution for completion of a 40-Hour Mediation Skills Training. |

Alexis Rodgers Alexis Rodgers serves as the Stony Brook Medicine Ombuds, a confidential, neutral, impartial and independent resource for Stony Brook Medicine. She is committed to creating a welcoming space where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate workplace concerns. Alexis brings over seventeen years of experience supporting individuals to the Stony Brook community, previously serving as Lead EAP Coordinator for Stony Brook University's Employee Assistance Program. She also spent nearly eight years as Director for Community Impact and Referral Programs at The Association for Mental Health & Wellness, where she led outreach and professional development initiatives reaching thousands of individuals. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from SUNY Old Westbury. |
