Leadership & Mentorship Oportunities 


WISE Student Leadership Council (SLC)

The WISE Student Leadership Council (SLC) is a student-run organization that enhances the WISE Honors experience through leadership, advocacy, and community-building. Open to all WISE students in good academic standing, the SLC offers meaningful opportunities to get involved—whether by serving on the Executive Board, leading a planning committee, or volunteering at events. Current positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and committee heads for Banquet, Fundraising, Decorations, and Public Relations, as well as a Liaison to first-year students.

Together, members help shape WISE programming, organize student events, and foster an inclusive and vibrant community of aspiring STEM leaders.


WISE Honors Mentorship Program

The WISE Honors Mentorship Program, advised by Naseeba Hack, connects first-year students with a small group of peers led by an experienced undergraduate mentor. These groups offer guidance on navigating STEM coursework, building academic confidence, and finding community within the WISE program. In addition to first-year support, WISE also provides mentorship opportunities for sophomores and seniors through connections with upperclassmen and alumni, fostering continued growth, support, and professional development throughout the undergraduate experience.


Clubs and Organizations

At Stony Brook University, students have access to over 400+ clubs and organizations across 11 different categories, offering countless ways to get involved, meet new people, and pursue passions. Whether you’re interested in academic clubs, cultural organizations, performing arts, sports, or special interests, there’s something for everyone!




 

 

Housing: Your Home in the Eleanor Roosevelt Community

 

WISE Honors students live in the Eleanor Roosevelt Community, offering corridor-style housing with primarily double rooms and a limited number of three-person and single rooms. Housing options include:

Greeley Hall

Wagner Hall

This community is home to the Creativity, Technology, & Innovation (CTI) Undergraduate College, University Scholars, and the WISE Honors Program. Living here provides students with access to a supportive and collaborative environment tailored to their academic and personal growth.
