URECA Grants/Fellowships

URECA provides support to SB students engaged in faculty-mentored research and/or creative activities in all disciplines. Students are encouraged to apply for:

1. SUMMER
URECA Summer programs  (applications due mid-March)  - URECA encourages students to participate in an immersive summer research program and offers several options including Explorations in STEM, Velay Fellowship, and URECA Summer. Students who are pell eligible are also encouraged to apply for the SUNY-SOAR (CIE) summer program.

2. MINI-AWARDS

URECA Small/Travel Grants (applications accepted all year round) - URECA encourages students to participate in off-campus meetings to gain experience in presenting/professional development

3. JANNELLI AWARD (Business-Humanities)

Jane & Armando Jannelli-URECA Award for research projects at the intersection of Business and Humanities (applications due in December)

Sophomore and/or juniors involved in research who have a commitment to a research career in mathematics, the natural sciences and/or engineering may want to consider applying for external competitions such as the Barry Goldwater Scholarship.
