Requirements for the Minor in Health, Medicine, and Society
Students may be Sociology Majors as well as choosing to “Minor” in Health, Medicine,
and Society; however, no more than three classes from the major course list may apply to the 21 credit requirement for the
minor.

and Society; however, no more than three classes from the major course list may apply to the 21 credit requirement for the
minor.

All courses for the minor must be passed with a letter grade of C or higher.

Completion of the minor requires 21 credits.

At least nine of the 21 credits must be taken at Stony Brook.

At lease three of the courses must be at the Upper-Division level
*Up to 6 credits of SOC 393 may be applied to the minor.
**Substitutions are at the discretion of the department.
