Marching Band Camp
To prepare for the Fall Semester and Football Season, All Members of the Marching Band (MUS 268) must attend Band Camp every August approximately 2 weeks before school starts, to learn music, marching fundamentals, and Pregame and Halftime shows. Housing (for on-campus residents) and meals are provided at no additional cost. Band Camp is required for All Members of the Marching Band.
A typical Band Camp day looks like...
9:00a-10:00a: Group Activities, Team Building
10:00a-12:00n: Marching Fundamentals & Drill (outside)
12:00n-1:30p: Lunch
1:30p-4:30p: Marching Fundamentals & Drill (outside)
4:30p-6:00p: Dinner
6:00p-8:00p: Music Rehearsal (inside)
8:00p-10:00p: Uniform Fittings, Sectionals, Evening Social Activities

Full Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band (All Winds, Drumline, Color Guard, Feature
Twirler, Diamond Wolfettes)
Early move-in to Band Camp is always 11 days (Thursday) prior to the start of Fall Semester for Drumline, Color Guard, Feature Twirler, and Leadership, or 8 days (Sunday) prior to the start of Fall Semester for all other members. Attendance at Band Camp is required to participate in the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band. The band covers the early move-in of all undergraduate students who are living on-campus and your move-in appointment/date will be automatically adjusted in mid-July.
The opportunity to move in early is provided at no cost to all New and Returning Undergraduate Members of the Spirit of Stony Brook who will be living on campus. All Band Camp meals are also provided at no cost for members.
